Sant’Agata di Militello (Sant’Àita di Militieddu in Sicilian) is an Italian town of 12 560 inhabitants of the metropolitan city of Messina in Sicily. It is about 100 km from Messina and 130 from Palermo. Out of 108 municipalities, it is the seventh of the metropolitan city by population after Messina, Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Milazzo, Patti, Capo d’Orlando and Lipari. Center with a prevalent tourist and commercial vocation of the Nebrodi area, of which it is one of the poles, together with Patti and Capo d’Orlando. The city became an autonomous municipality in 1857.
