The bruschetta is a peasant dish spread throughout Italy, born from the need that farmers had to keep the bread. It is today served mostly as a fast appetizer. The etymology of the term goes back to the abrupt Roman adjective, with the meaning of toasted and is prepared with a slice of toasted bread seasoned with oil and salt and rubbed with raw garlic
